Instructor: Katharine Prejean

Saturday and Sunday 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
April 6 – 7, 2013 (TWO DAY WEEKEND WORKSHOP)

As your basic and intermediate skills improve you will be ready for more challenging projects. This class will address skills I consider necessary to take you into the advanced level of a metal clay artist. We will take beads and pendants to the next level by focusing on dry construction, mitering, joint-making, and armature creations. Students will explore how to make hollow core beads including box beads and draped beads using PMC3, PMC Syringe and PMC Slip (paste). We will also address 2 different styles of patination.

Students should bring their favorite tools and work surface including the starter kit they received at the introductory class, as well as magnifying visor for close up work. (Most tools, work surfaces, etc will be available for purchase from the School Store.) I will supply the kiln and have some of my tools available to use during the course of the day.
