An introduction to the basics of oil painting in an intensive two day workshop.  Great for complete beginners or as a refresher for those wanting to get back into painting.  This workshop emphasizes a three-step strategy:  Drawing (to identify shapes, proportions, compositional relationships, and negative spaces), form (to establish values), and color (to paint the image while retaining drawing and form).    Through demonstrations and step-by-step guidance, students will complete one painting each day of the workshop, which closes with a group discussion and critique of each participant's work.  Each day is divided into two three-hour sessions divided by a lunch on your own from 12-1.

Level: Any. Basic knowledge of drawing is helpful, but not required.
