Description: The art of working with colored satin silk using a subtractive approach, using bleach and adding color back into the material to create a three dimensional look on a two dimensional surface. Students will also learn the applied process using India inks, colored pencils and permanent markers. During this course, the student will complete 3 paintings, with some work being required by the student outside of class time. A critique will be done at the end of the course and the best of each student’s finished works will be judged by the other students. Each student will have the chance to show their work at the teacher’s gallery on Royal Street for 6 weeks. The artist would receive 80% of the sales price for any pieces sold.
