JASON DUMOUCHEL spent his early years in Orlando, Florida surfing, skateboarding, and playing tennis among a variety of other sports. He began painting and drawing in high school while also pursuing an interest in the theater.  After high school Jason attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for theater in the fall of 1988.  After his first year, he decided to change his major from acting to art and enrolled at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.  While at Skidmore, Jason won a Liquitex Excellence in Art Student Grant and The Jesse Solomon Memorial Award in painting.  He graduated from Skidmore in 1994.  In 1998, Jason moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he now lives with his wife Mignon and three boys; Gryphon 3, Sebastian 6 and Jackson 17.  Jason has shown his work in New Orleans at D.O.C.S. Gallery, Jonathan Ferrara, and DuMois Gallery.  He is the co-founder of Artists ACT NOW, a Louisiana non-profit corporation dedicated to bringing artists together to provide aid for humanitarian causes, most recently the oil spill in the Gulf.
