Laura Scariano
Laura Scariano has over 20 years of experience working with clay. She was born and raised in New Orleans, and studied design at the University of Pennsylvania and has a minor in art history. Laura is a member of the Louisiana Crafts Guild. In 1995 Laura she took her first ceramic sculpture class with Mark Leuders. She makes wheel thrown pottery, porcelain jewelry, as well as larger hand built ceramic sculptures. Laura learned wheel throwing at community studios in NYC. She studied glaze chemistry with Peter Lane at Greenwich House Pottery in NYC and makes her own glazes. Laura has also participated in firing Tony Moore's anagama-noborigama kiln in New York. Laura’s NOLA Bon Vivant pottery studio is located on West End Park by Orleans Marina..
